The School of Natural Sciences, Mathematics, and Engineering at Viterbo University invites applications for a permanent full-time, 10-month events and outreach specialist and instructor position starting January, 2021. The primary responsibilities of this position are to

  • organize and promote an annual biochemistry-related symposium,
  • develop outreach strategies and lead engagement activities in support of the School's strategic priorities, programs, services, and mission,
  • teach 3-4 hours of undergraduate courses in chemistry, biochemistry, or biology per semester.

This position establishes and maintains effective communications links with stakeholders including current students and alumni, K-12 partners, visitors, industry partners, and faculty to increase the recognition of the Natural Science and Mathematics programs at Viterbo University.

Desired attributes include:

- Master's degree appropriate for teaching natural science,

- Skills or experience in public relations, communications, and/or event planning,

- Experience with K-12 outreach.

- Biomedical training and/or experience with health professions


An advanced degree in Biochemistry is considered a plus. Minimum requirement is a bachelor's or master's degree in science or math.
